About KSCM

Formed in 2011 as a class project and merger between Communication Studies and Journalism, Sierra College Underground Media (SCUM) became Sierra College’s one and only student produced streaming radio/tv station. 100% non-profit, content produced & run entirely by student volunteers.

As the station rebranded in 2015 to KSCM, a response to the program learning objectives, broader media programming, fantastic partnerships, and diverse content that brought SCUM's media holdings from underground to above ground. KSCM is located in the library building of the Sierra College Rocklin campus.

Our on-air personalities who produce a variety of podcasts, television, and film are the backbone of the station and there are radio presenters & content producers creating shows for your listening pleasure. Whether you are interested in Rock, Alt, Hip-Hop, RPM, Punk, Metal, Jazz, Blues, World, Country, Old-Time Radio, or Talk & Sports, KSCM has something for you, and is always looking for more on-air talent.

KSCM is fully infused with our departmental curriculum with course projects geared toward digital content production and promotion. We offer a wide variety of programming that truly encompasses the styles appreciated by all of Sierra College’s 22,000 students, over 500 faculty and staff, and a wide range of other communities around Rocklin and the greater Sacramento area.

There are many ways to get in on the fun. Listen from home at www.kscmd.org or come on down to the Sierra Campus, LRC 130 to hang out & get involved.
